At least one person is dead after a police cruiser and a pickup truck reportedly crashed during a police chase near Penns Landing this morning.

A report from 6-ABC Action News said the incident happened at the intersection of Columbus Boulevard & Race Street at around 1:30 a.m. on Friday morning.
Police were reportedly pursuing a stolen vehicle when the police cruiser crashed into a Mazda pickup truck, who police say may have been making an illegal left turn at the time of the crash. The police cruiser hit the Mazda on its passenger side. The driver of the pickup truck was killed in the crash. He was reportedly the only passenger in the vehicle. The two troopers were taken to Jefferson Hospital for treatment and released a short while later.
Meanwhile, the stolen vehicle the police cruiser had been chasing, crashed into a light post along the bike path on Columbus Boulevard, about a mile away from the first crash site. Two suspects were reportedly taken into custody.
