A man reportedly shot a woman’s pit bull after the two got involved in an altercation inside of a home in North Philadelphia yesterday.

A report from KYW-News Radio said the incident happened inside of a home on the 3100 block of Bambrey Street at around 3:00 a.m. on Friday morning.

Investigators said the man and woman were involved in an argument that turned physical inside of the home. At some point the woman’s pit bull reportedly attacked the man. The man pulled out his gun and fired two shots, hitting the dog in its leg and side. The woman reportedly escaped through a window that had been broken out during the fight.

The pit bull was taken to the Philadelphia Animal Specialty & Emergency where it underwent treatment for the wounds. The dog is now home and recovering. No arrests have been made at this time. Police said they are looking to speak with the male who shot the dog.
