A 5-year old girl was reportedly struck by a Philadelphia Police vehicle and injured in the Kingsessing section of the city yesterday.

A report from 6-ABC Action News said the incident happened on the 1600 block of S. Ithan Street at around 7: 30 p.m. on Tuesday evening.

Police said the officer was traveling Southbound on Ithan Street when the police vehicle struck the child. Police did not say if the vehicle was rushing to respond to an emergency when the accident happened. The child was rushed to Children’s Hospital Of Philadelphia where she was last reported to be in stable condition. The police officer was not injured.

The officer involved in the accident was not identified. An investigation is ongoing.
