A 44-year old man was reportedly struck by a vehicle and killed in the Juniata Park section of the city last night.

A report from 6-ABC Action News said the incident happened on Torresdale Avenue near Hunting Park Avenue shortly before midnight on Wednesday.
According to witnesses, the victim was crossing Torresdale Avenue when he was hit by a small SUV traveling East on Torresdale Ave. First arriving police officers at the scene reported finding the unresponsive victim lying in the street. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
Police believe the SUV in question is possibly a blue Honda CRX.
“There are several pieces of the striking vehicle on the scene. One larger piece appears to come from the front bumper of the striking vehicle but there are several other car parts on the scene, so hopefully those car parts can help us identify the striking vehicle”, said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector, Scott Small.
