A motorcyclist, believed by police to be in his 40’s, was reportedly struck by a stolen vehicle and killed in North Philadelphia this evening.

A report from 6-ABC Action News said the incident happened at Front Street & Hunting Park Avenue at around 8 p.m. on Tuesday night.

Police said a Kia SUV traveling north on Front Street, struck a motorcycle after running a red light at the intersection. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The SUV reportedly drove around 1000 feet after the accident before the occupants exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers pursued five juveniles on foot for about two blocks. Three females between the ages of 15 and 17-years of age were apprehended. The 17-year old male driver of the vehicle was also arrested. Police said that the Kia was reported stolen on Monday.
