A corrections officer was reportedly stabbed multiple times inside of a prison in New Jersey earlier in the week.
A report from New Jersey 101.5 fm said the incident happened at the New Jersey State Prison on Wednesday night.
Prison officials said the officer was stabbed multiple times with a 7″ homemade weapon. He was stabbed in the right shoulder, neck/back (area), forehead, and nose. The officer also suffered from heavy swelling to the face and eye.
The officer was taken to the prison’s medical facility covered in blood. The officer’s current condition was not reported. Prison officials have not yet released the name of the suspected inmate in the attack. As of Friday morning, the inmate had not yet been charged in the stabbing.
