26-year old, Bernard Junior Polite, who pulled a gun on a Reverend and attempted to shoot him on Sunday, was also charged with the murder of his 56-year old, cousin, Derek Polite, who was found shot to death in Bernard Polite’s home.
A report from 6-ABC Action News said Polite was taken into custody on Sunday morning, after attempting to shoot the Reverend, Glenn Germany during a sermon at the Jesus’ Dwelling Place Church, located in North Braddock, P.A., the suburbs of Pittsburgh.
Polite was apprehended by the Deacon and Pastor after his gun failed to fire, after pointing the weapon at the Pastor and pulling the trigger. The “men of the cloth” held the suspect until police arrived and arrested him. On Tuesday, law enforcement made the announcement that Polite was now also being charged in connection with the death of a man found shot to death in his home who was later identified as 56-year old Derek Polite, the suspect’s cousin.
Polite is being held at an undisclosed jail as he now faces charges for the attempted homicide of the Pastor and the murder of his cousin. The date of Polite’s next court appearance was not reported.
