A report from 6-ABC Action News said the incident happened at Kelly Drive & Fountain Green Drive at around 5:30 p.m. on Friday evening.
Investigators said the unidentified man asked the woman for a lighter before hitting her in the face with a piece of wood. The suspect fled the scene on foot afterward. The victim was treated at the hospital and released.
Police said the suspect is reportedly around 30-years of age and was last seen wearing a green coat and brown beanie hat. No arrests have been made at this time.
