A suspect has reportedly been taken into custody after a fatal stabbing on an El platform in the Kensington section of the city this morning.
A report from 6-ABC Action News said the stabbing happened on the Westbound platform of Septa’s Market-Frankford line, at the Somerset Street Station, shortly before 9:00 a.m. on Monday morning.
The victim was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving. A suspect was taken into police custody a few hours after the incident. A possible motive for the stabbing was not reported.
Police reported recovering a weapon. It wasn’t immediately made clear if the weapon was recovered at the location of the stabbing, or from the suspect when he was apprehended. An investigation is ongoing…
