A man and woman were reportedly wounded during a shooting in the East Mt. Airy section of the city over the weekend. Police believe the shooting was connected to another shooting in the same area that happened 10 minutes earlier.

A report from 6-ABC Action News said the shooting began on the 7900 block of Ogontz Avenue at around 12:38 a.m. on Saturday morning.
The first shooting happened on the 7900 block of Ogontz Avenue at around 12:38 a.m. First arriving police officers at the scene reported arriving at the location to find a 37-year old man who had been shot in the nose. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was last reported to be in stable condition.
The second shooting happened on the 6200 block of Limekiln Pike at around 12:48 a.m. In that shooting, a woman believed to be in her mid 20’s was shot in the back. She was rushed to a nearby hospital via private vehicle. Her condition was not immediately made available.
No suspects were named and no arrest have been made in either shooting. An investigation is ongoing.
