City workers reportedly found a duffel bag with a deceased child inside in the Mantua section of the city this morning.

A report from 6-ABC Action News said the workers reportedly spotted the duffel bag in a lot on the 600 block of N. 38th Street at around 9:45 a.m. on Monday morning. According to police, the deceased child appears to be between the ages of 2-4 years old.
“They opened up the bag and found the remains of what appears to be a juvenile between the ages of 2 and 4 years old” said Philadelphia Police Inspector, Kpana Massaquoi.
Police said the body was in a “severe state of decomposition” when the child’s remains were found. The cause of death, gender, and identity of the child, has yet to be determined. An investigation is ongoing..
