A 41-year old man was reportedly assaulted and abducted before becoming the victim of a home invasion in the Tacony section of the city early this morning.

A report from Fox-29 Philly said the incident happened as the victim was returning to his home on the 6700 block of Ditman Street at around 1 a.m. on Friday morning.

According to police, the victim was approached by 5 masked suspects who exited an SUV. He was abducted and driven to another location where he was pistol whipped, forced to hand over the keys to his home, and some other information. The suspects then went to the victim’s home where they encountered a 52-year old woman and a 27-year old man. The suspects assaulted both and demanded to know where the safe was. According to the victims, the thieves believed there was jewelry inside of the safe.

The suspects fled the home with an unknown amount of jewelry and cash. All three victims were released by the suspects after the heist. No suspects were named and no arrests have been made at this time. An investigation is ongoing.
