A teen was reportedly injured during a shooting near the basketball courts at a Park in Center City yesterday.

A report from 6-ABC Action News said the shooting happened on the 2500 block of Delancey Place at the Schuylkill River Park at around 6:45 p.m. on Friday evening.
An unidentified teen was reportedly shot once in the arm. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was last reported to be in stable condition.
Investigators said a group of teenagers were playing basketball when a group of other teens fired a gun at the ball players from a nearby ramp. The teens on the basketball court returned fire, causing people in the busy park to scatter as they searched for shelter from the sudden barrage of gunfire. Witnesses reported hearing around 12 shots fired at the normally, peaceful park.
“You don’t really see this type of stuff in this neighborhood. We’ve been coming here for awhile and this never happened. We didn’t know what to do.[When the gunfire erupted] They had to go back and grab their phones off the bench and run. Our ball is still right out there on the court. We just ran”, said Maurice Kanter, who was in the park playing basketball when the shooting broke out.
Police said they arrested three males and recovered four guns not too far from the scene. No other injuries were reported. An investigation is ongoing.
