74-year old, Former Trump advisor, Peter Navarro, was reportedly sentenced to serve 4-months in prison on two contempt of congress charges this afternoon.

A report from The Hill said Navarro was convicted on two counts of contempt of Congress in September. Count one was for failing to produce documents related to Congress’ Jan. 6 probe into former president, Donald Trump. Count two was for skipping out on his deposition.
Prosecutors were seeking a 6-month prison sentence for Navarro, say he showed “utter contempt for the rule of law”
“The committee was investigating an attack on the very foundation of our democracy. There could be no more serious investigation undertaken by Congress”, said Assistant U.S. Attorney, John Crabb, during sentencing.
Navarro’s attorneys are expected to appeal the conviction.
