Two adults and one teenager have reportedly been arrested in connection to an attack on a school crossing guard in the Strawberry Mansion section of the city in November of 2023.
A report from CBS-3 Philly said a 26-year old woman and an 18-year old woman were tracked down by police after multiple tips from the public. A 15-year old girl turned herself in to police. The three are accused of assaulting the crossing guard while she was on the job on Cecil B. Moore Avenue.
According to police: the crossing guard was attempting to help a student who said she had been jumped. The crossing guard was reportedly knocked to the ground before being punched and kicked by the suspects.
The crossing guard was hospitalized after the attack, but has since been released. Police said at least one of the assailants is suspected of being part of the group that jumped the student.
“I couldn’t believe that they would do this to someone who is out there trying to protect the children every day of the week and the viciousness of it. They were trying to inflict some injury”, said Commanding Officer Of The Central Detective Division, Capt. Frank Banford.
