A report from 6-ABC Action News said the code blue alert went into effect at around 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoon and will stay in effect until further notice.

A code blue is declared when the forecast shows 32 degrees or below with precipitation or a wind chill of 20 degrees or below. During the code blue city officials implement a 24-hour outreach program to help get people off the streets and into a shelter or other indoor space.

Emergency housing is available all day. Additional beds are said to also be provided. If you or someone you know needs this service, the city’s Homeless Outreach Hotline is (215) 232-1984.
