20-year old, Herman Stigal was arrested and charged in the October 2023 murder of 65-year old Mohammad Rahman who was allegedly murdered by Stigal as he was on his way to the Mosque to pray.
A report from CBS-3 Philly said the murder happened outside of the Masjid Al Madinah located on 69th Street in Upper Darby in October of 2023.
According to police: Rahman had just gotten out of his car when he reportedly got into a struggle with a suspect (Stigal) who shot Rahman in the chest before taking off in Rahman’s Toyota Rav 4.
Police said they spotted Stigal driving a different vehicle in late December and attempted to pull him over, but he refused to pull over.
“He got onto Interstate 76, where he crashed. He was captured with the assistance of the Pennsylvania State Police” said Upper Darby Police Superintendent, Timothy Bernhardt.
Police said Stigal was in possession of a ghost gun when he was captured. A date for Stigal’s initial court appearance was not reported.
