46-year old Jeffrey Surgent from Ocean City N.J., has been charged with killing and decapitating his 74-year old mother, Alexandria Surgent.
A report from 6-ABC Action News said police were called to Jeffrey’s apartment on 6th Street at around 4 p.m. on Friday afternoon. Jeffrey himself had made the call to the police. He told the dispatcher that he had bipolar disorder and had just killed his mother.
First arriving police officers at the scene reported finding Jeffrey lying nude on top of his mother’s decapitated body. He allegedly used a knife to kill and decapitate his mother. Jeffrey was taken into custody and charged with murder and weapons offenses. He is currently being held at the Cape May County Jail with no bail.
Police said Jeffrey apologized for killing his mother and sang “Jesus Loves Me” as police took him into custody. Jeffrey Surgent’s next court date was not reported.
