An unidentified man reportedly slashed two people with a large knife during two separate knife attacks in Pennypack Park last month.

A report from 6-ABC Action News said both attacks happened on the Pennypack trail at Pennypack Park in Northeast Philadelphia. Both attacks reportedly happened in the morning time.
According to police: the first attack happened on November 22nd in the area of 2800 Holme Avenue at around 8:15 a.m. In that incident, the victim was reportedly running on the trail when he approached a bicyclist from behind. The cyclist became enraged for whatever reason. The cyclist then reportedly pulled out a large knife (possibly machete) and sliced the victim multiple times in the hands and arms. The victim was reportedly taken to Nazareth Hospital to be treated for injuries.
The second attack happened on November 24th in the area of 2800 Winchester Avenue at around 9 a.m. In that incident, two people were walking along the trail when they were attacked by a bicyclist armed with a large knife. The male victim was cut on his right arm and hands. He was taken to Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital to be treated for injuries.
There was also another attack in the same area on November 25th that is possibly linked to the suspect. A woman was approached by an irate bicyclist on the trail who began yelling at her. As the cyclist attempted to retrieve something that was tied to his bike, the woman ran away. She was not physically injured during the incident.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male who is believed to be between 40-60 years old, with a thin build and weight of around 180 pounds. His bicycle was describe as a “BMX” type of bike.
Philadelphia Police are actively searching for the suspect. No arrests have been made at this time.
