A man was killed and a woman was injured during a shooting inside of a West Oak Lane home they were reportedly renovating, early this morning.

A report from 6-ABC Action News said police responded to reports of gunshots on the 7300 block of Sommers Road at around 1 a.m. on Monday morning.
Police said most of the shots appear to have been fired through the front window where the majority of the shell casings were found. A 40-year old man was found by police suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Police rushed the victim to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving. A 45-year old woman was also hit by gunfire. She was shot once in the leg and once in the arm. She was rushed to a nearby hospital. Her current condition was not reported. A possible motive for the shooting was not reported.
Investigators said the couple were living in the home they were currently renovating.
“There’s no indication that there was an exchange of gunfire inside. There was no weapon inside the property. There were tools in the property. The property was being rehabbed. Looks like this couple was working on the property”, said Philadelphia Police Captain, Anthony Ginaldi.”
No suspects were named and no arrests have been made at this time.
