A 36-year old woman was reportedly shot in the Franklinville section of the city last night before being dropped off at a hospital where she died.
A report from 6-ABC Action News said the victim was reportedly shot on the 800 block of West Venango Street at around 10 p.m. last night.
According to police: the victim was dropped off at Temple University Hospital in a private vehicle at around 10 p.m. Police were called to the hospital to begin an investigation shortly after the victim arrived. The victim was shot under her arm. She died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The woman told investigators that she’d been shot at the location before she died. Police are actively investigating the location, but have not yet located a crime scene. The vehicle that brought the victim to the hospital is in police possession as part of the investigation. A possible motive for the shooting was not reported.
No suspects have been named and no arrests have been made at this time.
