Two attempted robbers were reportedly shot at by a pizza shop employee in the Frankford section of the city last night, leaving one of the would-be robbers dead.

A report from 6-ABC Action News said the incident happened at George’s Pizza located on Oxford Avenue in the Frankford section of the city, at around 8 p.m. on Saturday night.

According to police: two suspects entered the pizza shop armed with firearms and attempted to rob the place. Gunfire was exchanged between one of the shop’s employees and the two attempted robbers.

One of the suspects were shot multiple times in the head and upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The second suspect fled the shop on foot. No other injuries were reported and nothing was taken during the attempted robbery.

Police recovered a weapon at the scene. The identity of the deceased suspect has not been released at this time. No description of the second suspect was given. An investigation is ongoing.
