Philly police are reportedly investigating two gun-point sexual assaults in Southwest Philadelphia to see if the two incidents may be connected.

A report from 6-ABC Action News said both assaults happened in Southwest Philly this past weekend.
According to police: the first incident happened on the 1600 block of South 55th Street at around 3 a.m. on Saturday morning.
In that incident the suspect reportedly approached a woman and brandished a black handgun before demanded money from the victim. She gave the suspect $20. At that point, he ordered the woman to unlock her car doors. He then ordered her to drive to 49th & St. Bernard Streets, at gunpoint. Once there, he reportedly sexually assaulted the victim. After the attack the suspect drove the victim to an ATM. He demanded that she withdraw money, which she did. The suspect then fled the area.
According to police: the second attack happened on the 1100 block of South Paxon Street at around 5 p.m. on Sunday evening.
In that incident a woman was walking down the street when she was approached by an unknown man. He pointed a weapon at her and demanded money. She gave the suspect $25. At that point, the suspect reportedly forced her into an alley where he sexually assaulted her. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.
The suspect(s) reportedly wore a blue facemask during both assaults. No other information regarding the suspects’ identity has been released. No arrests have been made at this time.
