35-year old, former NFL player, Sergio Brown was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the murder of his mother, who was reportedly found dead inside of her home in the suburbs of Chicago last month.
A report from CNN said Brown was deported back to the U.S. on Tuesday, after having recently traveled to Mexico. He was handed over to U.S. Authorities near San Diego. Brown is currently awaiting extradition to Illinois to face charges of first-degree murder.
According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, 73-year old, Myrtle Brown, died from injuries related to an assault. The manner of death was ruled homicide.
Brown was drafted by the New England Patriots in 2010. He played 7 seasons in the NFL.
