A car smashed into a tree on Roosevelt Boulevard early this morning. Police said the car was involved in a carjacking earlier in the evening.

According to a report from Fox-29 Philly the crash happened on the 4700 block of Roosevelt Boulevard at around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
Police said the car was occupied by a 15-year old and a 17-year old when the vehicle crashed into a tree while traveling at a high rate of speed. The car then reportedly crashed into another tree before finally coming to a stop. The teens ended up being trapped inside of the vehicle and had to be freed by first responders who arrived at the scene. The teens were taken to a nearby hospital after being freed. Their current conditions were not reported.
Police said the teens will be facing charges after their hospitalization.
