On Thursday Oct. 4 2018, Benson and two friends pulled into the gas station located at 25th Street & Passyunk Avenue when another car pulled up, and a person with a gun began chasing one of Benson’s friends. At trial, surveillance video reportedly showed a second shooter who fired from the backseat of the car that had pulled into the gas station. All three boys were hit by gunfire. At least 16 shots were fired at the scene.

A report from the Philly Voice said Common Pleas Court Judge, Charles Ehrlich, sentenced the pair on Friday. Mofield and Gaskins were reportedly part of a large investigation run by the DA’s Gun Violence Task Force.

According to the DA’s GVTA, the defendants are part of a deadly conflict between groups affiliated with 31st Street, 27th Street, and Wilson Park.

Judge Ehrilch sentenced the pair to 45-90 years in prison.
