A 38-year old man was reportedly shot and critically wounded in the Chinatown section of the city yesterday.

A report from Fox-29 Philly said the the shooting happened in an alley on the 1000 block of Appletree Street at around 3 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

First responding police officers at the scene reported finding the victim lying in the alley unresponsive. He was suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head. Police described the wound to the head as “nonsurvivable”. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was last reported to be in extremely critical condition. A possible motive for the shooting was not reported.

The victim and his friends had reportedly just left the club when they heard an argument that was quickly followed by the sound of gunshots. Witnesses said they saw a group of about 10 people fleeing the scene after the shooting. No suspects were named though and no arrests have been made at this time.
