A robbery suspect was reportedly shot by a police officer in the Kensington section of the city last night.

A report from CBS-3 Philly said the incident happened on the 3100 block of Emerald Street at around 9:30 p.m. on Friday night.
The suspect reportedly pistol-whipped a male victim and stole his cell phone before being chased by police who happened to be on patrol nearby at the time of the robbery. The suspect fired at the two officers as he fled. One of the officers fired back, hitting the suspect in the ankle.
The suspect was taken to the hospital and arrested afterward. No police officers were injured during the arrest.
