14-year old, Harris Wolobah from Massachusetts, reportedly died after taking part in a viral tic-tok challenge known as “the 1 chip challenge.

According to a report from NBC-10 Boston, the teen ate an extremely spicy Paqui chip at his school, Dohery Memorial High School, on Friday. After becoming sick afterward, Wolobah was picked up from school by his family. Not long after, Wolobah reportedly told his family he was feeling better and headed back to the school for basketball tryouts.
Wolobah was found by his brother at around 4:30 p.m. just before basketball tryouts. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. A cause of death has not been confirmed, but Wolobah’s mother said she believes the boys death was the result of the Tic-Tok challenge.
The Paqui chip challenge reportedly “tests an individual’s ability to eat the chip and hold out on drinking any liquids to limit or relieve the burning sensation.” According to the company’s website, which was reportedly promoting the chip challenge.
