22-year old, Carrington Harris, was arrested yesterday and charged with stabbing her grandfather in the face after an argument over her hygiene habits.
A report from ABC News said the incident happened in Keithville, Louisiana which is about 20 miles south of Shreveport, Louisiana. Police said the incident began when Harris’ grandparents asked her to take a shower.
“Detectives said Harris and her grandparents began arguing after they asked her to shower. She began damaging property inside the house and then turned the power off from outside. Detectives say while the couple were trying to restrain Harris, she escaped and retrieved a knife from the kitchen, using it to stab her grandfather”, a statement released by the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
Harris reportedly ran from the home and into the woods after stabbing her grandfather in the face. She was found hiding behind a nearby home several hours later by police. Harris was arrested and charged with one count of domestic battery abuse, and one count of battery abuse with a dangerous weapon. Harris’ grandfather was rushed to the hospital. His current condition is listed as unknown in the report.
Harris is being held at the Caddo Correctional Center with no bond at this time. There was no date reported for her next court appearance.
