Former President Of The United States, Donald J. Trump, officially became the first president in this county’s long history to ever have a mug shot, after being booked at an Atlanta jail this evening.
A 6 ABC Action News report said the former president was booked at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday evening. He was released on a $200,000 bond after being booked, fingerprinted, and having his mugshot taken.
The former president reacted to being booked once outside of the courtroom.
“A sad day for America. This should never happen…What has taken place here is a travesty of justice, we did nothing wrong. I did nothing wrong”, Trump said after being booked on Thursday.
All in all, the booking process was completed in around 20 minutes. Trump was indicted along with 18 others and have been charged under the R.I.C.O statute for charges related to attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election. District Attorney Fani Willis’s office has proposed a trial date of October 23, 2023. Defense attorneys are expected to argue against the trial date.
