A 6-ABC Action News report said the incident happened in the area of Castor & Aramingo Avenues shortly after midnight on Tuesday morning.

Investigators said that two officers on routine patrol in the area witnessed two Dodge Chargers (1-white & 1-blue) who appeared to be racing one another down Castor Avenue. The officers said they witnessed the blue Charger hit the victim, who was crossing the street. The victim died at the scene.

Officers gave chase but lost both vehicles as they sped down Interstate 95 North. The blue Charger was pulled over by New Jersey Police in Pennsauken not long afterward. N.J. Police said the vehicle had front-end damage. A 19-year old driver and a 19-year old passenger were the only two occupants of the vehicle, police said. Both suspects were taken into custody.

Police said they are still searching for the white Dodge Charger.
