Four teenagers were reportedly shot at a playground in the East Oak Lane section of the city last night.

A 6 ABC Action News report said the shooting happened at Sturgis Playground located at 2nd Street & West 65th Avenue at around 11 p.m. on Sunday night.
Police said they recovered at least 18 spent shell casings that littered the park and nearby streets.
“Those 18 spent shell casings are spread out over a considerable area. About half of them are in the park itself, about half are outside on 2nd Street, indicating that the shooter or shooters were moving around quite a bit, and there was a lot of running around as this shooting took place”, said Philadelphia Police Inspector, D.F. Pace.
Two 16-year old boys, a 17-year old boy and a 17-year old girl were shot during the incident. The report went on to say that the victims were shot in their “extremities”, but did not clarify or give any further details about the extent of the injuries to the victims. They were all taken to a nearby hospital where all four were last reported to be in stable condition. Another teen reportedly showed up at Temple University Hospital around the same time. Police are investigating to see if he was also shot at the playground. A possible motive for the shooting was not reported.
Police said they do not know if any of the victims were also shooters.
“It’s unclear at this time whether or not any of the gunshot victims were also shooters or whether or not the shooters came upon this group of four juveniles and shot at them and then took off. We just don’t know yet”, Pace added.
No suspects have been named and no arrests have been made at this time.
