A 35-year old woman was reportedly shot in the back of the head as she sat inside of her car on the Roosevelt Boulevard yesterday.

A Fox-29 Philly report said the shooting happened at the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard & Conwell Avenue at around 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon.
Investigators said the shooter was among a group of mourners gathering and placing balloons at the spot where a motorcyclist was reportedly killed in a car crash last week. A car reportedly drove by and someone inside threw a bottled water at the group of mourners, causing one of the mourners to pull out his gun and fire several shots at the vehicle. He missed his target, but hit the 35-year old victim who was sitting in in a nearby car.
“When that bullet penetrated the window and went into the headrest, it was the headrest that was really instrumental in preventing much further damage to the victim”, said Philadelphia Police Inspector, D.F. Pace.
The victim was taken to Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital by paramedics where she was last reported to be in stable condition. No description of the shooter was given and no arrests have been made at this time.
