An unidentified 51-year old, Philadelphia Corrections Officer at a jail in the Holmesburg section of the city, was reportedly attacked by an inmate yesterday.
A 6 ABC Action News report said the incident happened at the Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility at around 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
According to the report, the incident began when the officer attempted to lock the inmate inside of his cell. The C/O was reportedly taken to the hospital to be treated for numerous unspecified injuries.
Charges against the inmate for the assault are pending. The names of both the inmate and C/O were not reported.
