44-year old, Khalil Evans turned himself in to police to face charges for the attempted abduction of a 14-year old girl from a mall in Montgomery County, P.A. on Wednesday evening.

A 6 ABC Action News report said the attempted abduction happened at the Willow Grove Mall at around 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
The victim said Evans and an unidentified man approached her as she was going down the escalator, after she became separated from her friends. She said Evans introduced himself as “Alex” and asked the teen to walk with him as he extended his arm. The teenager reportedly told Evans she was underage and attempted to get away from him. That’s when Evan reportedly grabbed her roughly by the arm and led her throughout the mall toward an exit. As they got closer to the exit, the teen screamed and managed to escape. Evans and the other man reported left the mall afterward.
“This young lady became separated with her friends. So although it was 7 p.m., the mall had other people shopping in there. We advise it’s always safer to stay in the group. If there’s people around, scream for help, someone is going to come help you”, said Lieutenant, Steven Fink, of the Abington Township Police Department.
Evans is facing multiple charges, including unlawful imprisonment. The male with Evans at the mall has not been charged with any crime at this time.
