A 6 ABC Action News report said there have been at least 3 reported cases just this week, all of which reportedly happened during the hours of 3:40 a.m. – 5:00 a.m.

The first reported incident happened on the 12000 block of Academy Road at around 4:20 a.m on Tuesday morning. A woman was reportedly robbed by four armed individuals before being forced into the white U-Haul van at gunpoint. One of the suspects then punched her in the face before she fled. The driver of the van shot at the woman twice, before the suspects fled the scene.

Just one hour later, on the 6300 block of Roosevelt Boulevard, the group was at it again. This time, the victim was a man sitting inside of his vehicle while using the drive-thru at a TD Bank. The van drove up and blocked the vehicle’s exit path, before two armed individuals exited the van pointing guns at him. The victim was unable to withdraw any money from the ATM. At that point, the suspects stole the victim’s 2011 Mercedes Benz before fleeing the scene.

The third incident took place at around 3:40 a.m. on Thursday on the 9200 block of Delaware Avenue. A man was walking down Delaware Ave. when the suspects pulled up and forced the victim into the van at gunpoint. They threatened to kill the victim if he didn’t withdraw money from his account and give it to them. He was driven to a corner store on the 9100 block of Frankford Avenue where the victim was able to withdraw $300. The suspects then attempted to have the victim withdraw more money, but were unsuccessful.

“The complainant was told to transfer money using a bank app. He called his mother to do so and she sent him an additional $300. His phone was taken and they fled in an unknown direction”, police said in a statement.

No arrests have been made at this time. Police are urging residents to be on alert.
