Jabril Ali (no age given), was arrested by U.S. Marshals in South Philadelphia in connection with the shooting of tow truck driver, Jamie King on May 3, 2022.
A 6 ABC Action News report said Ali was taken into custody on the 1900 block of Cleveland Street at around noon on Wednesday afternoon.
Surveillance video captured the entire incident. In the video, King can reportedly be seen sitting inside of his tow truck outside of International Recovery Systems, a car repo company. King was said to be waiting for his next call, when he got out of his truck to lock the gate to the business. At that point, an orange vehicle pulls up, and one of the occupants exits the car and says a few words to King before he opens fire. King was shot multiple times in the stomach, chest and head. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Ali has been charged with attempted murder, robbery, weapons violations, and drug sales. The date for Ali’s next court appearance was not reported.
