A 39-year old man and a 33-year old woman were shot in the Strawberry Mansion section of the city last night, in what police believe was a targeted ambush.

A report from 6 ABC Action News said the shooting happened on the 2700 block of North Dover Street at around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday night.
Police said the two victims were sitting inside of a parked Chevy when a gunman or gunmen walked up and opened fire on the couple.
“It appears the shooter or shooters were lying in wait in an alley right around the corner from where the vehicle was parked. It appears that the woman and her companion were just outside of their home, when the shooting occurred,” said Philadelphia Police Inspector D.F. Pace.
The male victim was reportedly shot in the arm. Investigators said the victim ran to another car during the shooting, and was taken to Roxborough Memorial Hospital where he was last reported to be in stable condition. The female victim was shot once in the back. She was rushed to the hospital by paramedics where she was last reported to be in critical condition. A possible motive for the shooting was not reported, but police said they believe the male was the shooter or shooters’ intended target.
No description of the suspect(s) were reported, no weapons were recovered, and no arrests have been made at this time.
