Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney announced the results of a three-day multi-agency effort to target drugs and drug dealers in the Kensington section of the city, this afternoon.

A 6 ABC Action News report said the 3-day crackdown targeting the Kensington section of the city, reportedly netted $1.4 million in drugs, including 60 pounds of marijuana, 1200 grams of heroin, 850 grams of fentanyl, and $100,000 in cash. 27 guns were also reportedly seized.
“This was a pretty good amount of evidence recovered. They’re guns and drugs we won’t see on the street this summer. What is happening in Kensington is unacceptable. We cannot allow the continued operation of a drug market that exploits and endangers our residents”, said Phila. Deputy Commissioner Of Investigations, Frank Vanore.
Officers from all levels of law enforcement participated in the raids, including the Philadelphia Police, F.B.I, D.E.A, and others. Officials called this move “the latest effort to clean up the streets of Kensington.” 175 arrests were reportedly made during the three-day sweep.
