23-year old, Gregory Smith was sentenced to serve between 26-52 years in prison for the murder of 21-year old Dominic Billa, and the attempted murder of another man on March 29, 2021.
A report from Fox-29 Philly said the incident reportedly happened in the food court of Philadelphia Mills Mall, after a fight broke out. Smith shot and killed Billa and shot at another man during the scuffle.
“Gregory Smith showed a complete disregard for the safety of everyone in the area when he shot and killed Dominic Billa in a crowded shopping mall. Nothing can bring Dominic back to his family and loved ones, but the defendant has now been held accountable for this senseless act of violence”, said the Attorney General.
Smith was also ordered to pay Billa’s family restitution in the amount of $15,000.
