58-year old, David V. Doyle has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, and illegal discharge of a firearm, after being accused of shooting a 14-year old girl in the back of the head as she hid on his property during a game of “hide & seek.”

A report from USA Today said the shooting happened in Starks, Louisiana on Sunday morning. The 14-year old victim was reportedly shot in the back of the head. She was taken to a local hospital where she was reportedly treated for non life-threatening injuries.

Doyle told detectives that he observed shadows outside of his home, then went inside to retrieve his firearm. He said he then went back outside where he saw people fleeing from his property, at which point he open fired. The case is reportedly still under investigation.
