An unidentified man was reportedly shot and killed by Philadelphia Police Officers in North Philadelphia this afternoon.

An NBC-10 Philadelphia report said the shooting happened at 12th & Camac Streets at around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.
Police said patrol officers responded to the scene for an undisclosed call. One suspect at the scene immediately fled, while another suspect allegedly fired at least one shot at police officers before fleeing on foot. A foot chase reportedly ensued at which time the suspect allegedly fired more shots at police. At some point, two police officers opened fire on the suspect, striking him multiple times. The suspect was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died shortly after arriving.
The original reason for the police call to the location has not been released to the public at this time. An investigation is ongoing.
