A shooting followed by a wrong-way, high-speed chase, on the Schuylkill Expressway in South Philadelphia, reportedly left a 27-year old man in critical condition early this morning.

A 6 ABC Action News report said the incident began on the 1900 block of Pattison Avenue at around 2:50 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
A tow truck driver called police to report a Ford Explorer and an Infinity sedan speeding Eastbound in the Westbound lanes. Shortly afterward, both vehicles were involved in a crash that threw the two cars into the Eastbound lanes where they ended up in the Eastbound lanes, facing the right direction of traffic.
A 27-year old male in the backseat of the Explorer had been shot in the neck. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was last reported to be in critical condition. Police said there is a high probability that the man will be paralyzed if he survives. A 32-year old man who was reportedly driving the Explorer remained at the scene after the crash and was being interviewed by police at last report. A 22-year old man, who is believed to be the shooter, also remained at the scene and was last reported to be being interviewed by police.
A possible motive for the shooting has not yet been reported and no arrests have been reported at this time. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
