FIRE BREAKS OUT AT CARLYLE HOTEL IN NORTH PHILLY

Firefighters were called to North Philadelphia to battle a blaze that broke out at a hotel yesterday.

A 6 ABC Action News report said the fire happened at the Hotel Carlyle located on the 1400 block of Popular Street at around 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

 

 

 

More than 75 Fire Department members responded to the scene at the historical hotel. First responding firefighters at the scene reported arriving to see heavy smoke pouring out of the top of the hotel. The fire was contained in around an hour. Eight guests and two pets were displaced. One firefighter was reportedly injured. The extent of his injuries and current condition were not reported.

 

The cause of the fire has not been determined at this time. Authorities said an investigation is underway.
