A 71-year old man was reportedly injured during a shootout with two armed suspects who tried to rob him in North Philadelphia last night.

A report from 6 ABC Action News said the incident happened at 10th & Cumberland Streets at around 11:15 p.m. on Thursday night.
Investigators said the victim had just left the Chinese takeout restaurant on the corner when he was approached by two armed men who announced a robbery. The victim reportedly pulled out his gun and exchanged gunfire with the two suspects. The victim was reportedly struck once in the leg during the shootout.
The victim was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he was last reported to be in stable condition. Investigators said they know the suspects fired at the victim because of the spent shell casings found at the scene. The victim’s revolver, which he emptied, does not expel shell casings, according to investigators.
“We do know that the 71-year old victim fired multiple shots. Unknown at this time if he struck any of these two perpetrators, but we’re checking area hospitals at this time.”
The suspects have not yet been identified and no arrests have been made at this time.
