A suspect is reportedly in custody this morning, after a New Jersey state trooper was shot in Patterson overnight.
A report from ABC-7 New York said the incident happened near 28th Street & 9th Avenue in the very early hours of Thursday morning.
Police said the incident involved a car on Route 20 that ended up in the Patterson residential neighborhood. There were reportedly several unmarked police cars at the scene riddled with bullet holes. The trooper who was shot is scheduled to undergo surgery today. He is expected to survive. Several other officers were taken to local hospitals to be checked out.
One suspect is reportedly in custody. Police said they are searching for two more suspects.
