A report from USA Today said federal authorities made the announcement on Monday morning. The Feds said the pair were part of a drug trafficking ring that smuggled cocaine through UPS packages using fake labels.

48-year old, Javier Mendoza, 58-year old, Jose Felipe Lozana, and 45-year old, Enrique Bernardo Gamez, were all charged previously and named as co-defendants in the conspiracy.

According to authorities Mendoza supplied the packages of cocaine to Almanza and Salinas. Lozana allegedly supplied the packaging labels. Gomez’s part in the conspiracy involved him storing the drugs at his home before transport.

132 pounds of cocaine in total were reportedly seized by the feds during the investigation. All 5 co-defendants are facing life behind bars and a fine of $10 million if convicted on all charges. Almanza and Salinas’s next court date is scheduled for March 1st.
