A man was shot and killed in Allentown P.A. last night. According to Allentown Police, the suspect fired at the officers first.
A report from 6 ABC Action News said the incident happened at 8th & Maplewood Streets at around 8 p.m. on Friday night.
Police reported witnessing the suspect assaulting another person at the location. Police attempted to break up the altercation, at which time the suspect fled on foot. The officers gave chase. Police say the suspect pulled out a weapon as they were in pursuit. He allegedly turned and fired as he ran. Police say that was when they returned fire, hitting and killing the suspect. The report did not say how many times the suspect was shot, or where he was shot.
No police were reported injured. The report did not reveal the name and age of the suspect. The shooting is under investigation…
