A 6 ABC Action News report said the incident began at around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon on the 700 block of Emerson Street. Police said the standoff lasted for over 7-hours.

Police were called to the location for a report of a man with a mental health crisis, who had multiple weapons inside of his home. The man reportedly locked and barricaded himself inside of the home. He opened fire at police officers arriving at the scene. A SWAT truck was reportedly hit by at least 10-bullets during the barrage of gunfire.

No one was reported injured during the standoff. The suspect was eventually taken into police custody without further incident, after talking to family members who arrived at the scene. The shelter in place order for the neighborhood wasn’t officially lifted until after 11 p.m.
